What is Ardoq?
Ardoq is a collaborative, easy-to-use and intuitive tool for documenting your projects, business processes, applications, services, infrastructure or anything else that you can document in a structured way.
It is also a fantastic tool for exploring your organization’s architecture and documentation through its many view modes.
Our primary goal when creating Ardoq was to lower the bar for creating and editing content. We want everyone to contribute to your documentation. If the documentation is not being maintained, it loses its value. That means it has to be so easy-to-use and intuitive that it is actually enjoyable to use. Compare Ardoq to other ‘advanced’ solutions and you will see what we mean. Ardoq is model-based, but the model is so simple that it actually helps you when you are documenting.
Our vision is to create the tools IT professionals want to use. In order to do that, we have taken away the redundancy of documentation and automated much of the process. Now you can spend more time understanding your system and less time trying to capture the reality of it.
Models define the structure of workspaces, including their components, references and fields.
A Workspace contains Components and References between components. A workspace contains a single model, however, you are able to link dependencies across workspaces.
Fields are permanent attributes that can be set per component and reference type(s) or globally to all component and reference types. Fields are also searchable and filterable.
When you create a new field type, you can set the value as “text”, “email”, “url”, “number” etc. Numerical fields can be used to alter visualizations like the treemap.
Tags can be used to give your information additional analytical dimensions, so you can filter information based on those tags. Tags are great ways to quickly mark references or components. #winning
A component represents any business object or entity documented in Ardoq. The component type is dependent on the model being used.
References can be any relationship (as defined by your model) that links two components together.
Attachments can be added to Ardoq to be used to as references or dropped into individual components. Ardoq supports:
.jpeg, .png, .doc, .pdf, .mov, .mp4, .svg, .xlsx, .ppt, among many others.

To collect data outside of the user base, you can create Surveys that people with relevant information can fill in as easy as 1-2-3.

As you add more and more data into Ardoq, you can start answering questions about your data. One way is to use different views, and perspectives to do this - but an easier way is using the Report Builder.
