It can be important to highlight one or more components in a view, based on different criteria. This could apply to critical applications, who is responsible for process steps, or systems that are planning to be phased out in the next months. 

To access Conditional Formatting, go to the perspectives menu.

You can add Formatting by using already created Fields on Components, References, and Tags.

In this example we have chosen to format all Applications Eric is responsible for in blue color.

This is the result in the Treemap view - and Eric is responsible for all Blue Applications.

To show you another example, this is the same view - but the colors highlight when the Application is planning to be Phased out. Red is Q1, Blue Q2, Yellow Q3, and Green Q4.

Reference Type text on/off

At the very bottom of the Formatting page/window, you will see the "Reference Label Formatting" area. Here you can choose if you want to display the type name of the reference on references or not. Works for all views that show the references (Block Diagram, Swimlanes, and also in Dependency Map).

If we choose Reference type, the references will now show the type name on them:
