Ardoq components can be created, updated, and deleted through a variety of sources, including scheduled integrations, changes in the user interface, and many others.

As the Ardoq data model is extended with new data coming in from surveys, integrations, AI agents, referring to provenance information helps ground your understanding and trust in the data.

Every component in Ardoq has two metadata fields that store provenance details:

  • Origin: the original source that created a component.

  • Updated via: the latest source that updated the component.

Currently, Ardoq has two views into provenance information: the Origin and Updated via columns in the Data Inventory, and the Fields tab in the Component overview page.
