On mobile, open the standalone assistant in your phone's browser. To embed it, copy the embed code from the standalone assistant and paste it into an iframe in Confluence, SharePoint or another tool that supports iframes.
Availability - Open Beta: The mobile and embedded AI Assistant are Open Beta features.
Embedding works the same way as embedding Ardoq presentations. On mobile or in an embedded page, people sign in to Ardoq and can ask the assistant questions about the data they have access to.
Before you start
The AI Assistant is enabled for your organization.
Everyone who will use the assistant has an Ardoq account with the right permissions. They see only the data their permissions allow.
You have access to editing the Confluence or SharePoint page where you want to embed it.
On SharePoint, a SharePoint administrator may need to approve your Ardoq domain.
To use the assistant on your phone, you only need the first two items. You don't need to embed it.
Use the assistant on your phone
The AI Assistant works in your phone's browser. There is nothing to install or embed.
Open your phone's browser and go to your Ardoq address followed by
/assistant, for examplehttps://acme.ardoq.com/assistant.Sign in with your Ardoq account.
Ask your question in natural language. You see only the data your permissions allow.
Embed the assistant in Confluence or SharePoint
To show the assistant on a page your team already uses, get the embed code from the standalone assistant and paste it into an iframe.
Step 1: Get the embed code from the standalone assistant
Open the standalone AI Assistant. It is the full-page version of the assistant, at your Ardoq address followed by
/assistantFor example:https://acme.ardoq.com/assistantIn the top right corner, select the embed option.
Copy either the embed URL or the embed HTML markup.
The embed HTML looks like this. Your own code comes from the assistant, so use that and not this example.
<iframe src="Ardoq Assistant embed URL starting at HTTPS" width="100%" height="700"></iframe>
Note: The main Ardoq app cannot be embedded. Only the standalone assistant and Ardoq presentations can.
Step 2: Embed in Confluence
In Confluence, open the page you want to edit, or select Create to make a new one.
Go to Insert > View More.
Search for Iframe and select it.
Paste the embed URL into the URL field. We recommend Height = 700 and Width = 100%.
Save and publish the page.
Step 3: Embed in SharePoint
If your Ardoq domain is not approved yet, a SharePoint administrator adds it. Go to Site Collection Administration > HTML Field Security, add your Ardoq domain (yourcompany.ardoq.com), and select the option that permits contributors to insert iframes from the listed domains.
Open the SharePoint page and select Edit.
Add an Embed web part (the </> icon).
Paste the embed code from Step 1. Use width 100% and height 600 to 800.
Publish the page.
SharePoint can wrap embedded iframes in its own sandbox. If the assistant does not load or sign-in does not complete, see Troubleshooting.
What to know
Sign in. People sign in to Ardoq inside the frame. They see only what they are authorized to see.
Links may not open. Links from the assistant to Ardoq pages (for example citations or viewpoints) may not work inside an iframe. Ardoq disables drill-down in iframes.
One iframe per page. Each iframe launches Ardoq in the browser. Use one embed per page for better performance.
Suggested prompts. The embedded assistant shows your organization's suggested prompts. Admins can customize them in the same way as in Ardoq.
Not supported. Embedding the main Ardoq app, and embedding surveys.
Mobile browser. The assistant works in your phone's browser. There is no Ardoq mobile app to install.
Questions and data changes. You can ask questions and ask the assistant to populate data. You can't approve data changes on a phone: ask a colleague to review them, or continue on your computer.
Visuals. Diagrams and charts appear inline in answers where the assistant supports them.
Links on mobile. Links to Ardoq pages may not work on a phone. If you need the page, open the link in a new tab.
Troubleshooting
The embedded assistant shows a login screen that will not go away.
Your browser may be blocking third-party cookies for your Ardoq domain. Allow third-party cookies for your Ardoq domain, or ask your IT team to allow it. If you sign in with SSO, allow pop-ups on the Confluence or SharePoint page so sign-in can finish. This is the same as for embedded presentations.
The embedded assistant is stuck loading.
Your Confluence iFrame macro may block scripts from running. Ask your Confluence administrator to check the macro settings.
The assistant says "refused to connect".
Check that you used the embed code from the standalone assistant. The main Ardoq app and surveys cannot be embedded. In SharePoint, check that your Ardoq domain is on the approved list.
It works in Chrome but not in Safari.
Safari blocks third-party cookies by default. Allow them for your Ardoq domain.
The assistant doesn't load or sign-in doesn't finish on my phone.
Check that you are signed in to your Ardoq account and that you opened your Ardoq address followed by /assistant in your phone's browser. If you sign in with SSO, allow pop-ups in the browser so sign-in can finish. If it still fails, try another browser.
FAQ
Can I embed the assistant in Microsoft Teams?
Not as part of this feature. The embedded assistant is for pages that accept an iframe, such as Confluence and SharePoint. A Teams and Slack connector is planned separately.
Can people use the embedded assistant without an Ardoq account?
No. People sign in and see only what their permissions allow.
Does the embedded assistant have the same features as the one in Ardoq?
It is the standalone assistant, so it has no page context. It cannot act on the page you are looking at the way the in-app assistant can.
I'm stuck. Who can help?
Make sure to check help documentation on the collaboration platform you’re using, such as Confluence and Sharepoint, as they can give detailed instructions on how to handle embeddable elements and iFrames.
