Ardoq determines which features to retire (deprecate) based on product usage data, feedback from the Customer Product Portal, and direct customer interactions. We strive to continually innovate and apply our resources where they add the most value. Features that consume resources and provide little value to customers may need to be retired.

To stay informed about the status of live, deprecated, or soon-to-be deprecated views, please refer to the Ardoq Views Portfolio Status page.

While retiring features can cause temporary disruption, we believe that focusing on your most important concerns is the best way to serve you.

Please find below a document explaining how to migrate your presentation slides from an older version to a newer version or a different view.

If you have further questions, please contact our Support Team via Ardoq in-app chat or your Customer Success Manager.

1. The Migration checklist can be used to find Presentations that include soon-to-be-retired views with newer versions.

Note: In the case of views with no newer version, but an alternative view, please skip to step 2.

  • For your convenience, we have provided a Migration checklist to help you find views that need to be updated. From the left bar, select Migration checklist (available to admin users only).

  • Locate the slides that need updating in your presentations. You can select individual slides one by one by opening the presentation in edit mode and looking for the 'Deprecated' badge next to their names.

2. Select the appropriate view:

  • Located on the right side of the views, click the "Two Column View" icon.

  • Open the soon-to-be retired (deprecated) view on the LEFT column and the new version or alternative view on the RIGHT column. You can do this by selecting 'More' in each column > 'Manage views'.

Please note: The views might appear different, but keep your context; we'll modify the view shortly.

  • Give yourself as much screen space as possible by closing the Presentation slider without exiting the Presentation. You can do this by clicking on the "Play" icon in the top bar.

3. Adapt the new version or alternative view to generate the insights you want to visualize (or, in some cases, improve the insights):

  • Note that in many cases, the view modifiers will have changed (see screenshot below for an example)

  • Make any necessary adjustments. It is not necessary to apply your perspectives to the new versions since they will already be applied.

  • You may want to review your saved filters, as there may be new opportunities to generate insights beyond them.

  • Your original view may not be reflected in the resulting view. Nevertheless, with a few adjustments, it should convey your message. It is likely that the new view will be more useful in many cases.

  • Click the "X" on the right side of the view tab to close the old version.

  • On the top right, click the "Play" icon to reopen the Presentation slider.

  • Simply hover over the slide you wish to replace (do not click the slide as this will reset all your work).

  • Replace the slide with the current view by clicking "Replace Slide with Current View".

4. And Repeat!

Summary:

  • If the view has a newer version, use the migration checklist to speed up your migration

  • For simplicity, take advantage of the 'two-column' view.

  • Click "replace current slide" once you've configured the replacement view.

  • If you have further questions, please contact our Support Team via Ardoq in-app chat or your Customer Success Manager.

  • Here are a few tips:

    • View modifiers are commonly the most significant change needed to get the insights you need after migration.

    • Check out existing knowledge bases on views you are migrating to for more information on how to configure them for your business needs
