Say goodbye to the hassle of creating proxy users and API tokens tied to real users. With Ardoq’s Service accounts, you can now manage these users and their API keys directly in-app, simplifying provisioning and avoiding issues when users leave the organization.

What is a Service Account

A Service Account is a special user in your organization created solely to own an API token for integrations, eliminating the need for proxy users tied to real employees.

A service account is functional when you want to set up an API integration that needs an API token.

To create a service account:

  1. Navigate to the Preferences menu and select Access control

  2. Navigate to the “Service Accounts” tab.

  3. Click on the “Create service account” button at the top right corner of the screen.

  1. Give your account a name.

  2. Select a role.

  3. Enter a description for your token.

  4. Click on “Create account” to generate a token. The “Create service account” modal will close and you’ll see your token under “Service accounts” in a blue information box.

To regenerate a token or delete an account:

Click on the three-dot menu next to an account name and select “Regenerate token” or “Delete account”.

Please note that regenerating a token will cause any clients relying on it to lose communication with Ardoq.
