Overview
The guided exporter is designed to help you configure ServiceNow to import Ardoq data using staging tables and transform maps.
You can find the exporter guide in Ardoq by navigating to Imports & integrations, clicking View all integrations, and clicking ServiceNow Exporter.
Prerequisites
To configure ServiceNow, you'll need an admin user with the following permissions:
REST Messages
Import Sets
Data Sources
Transform Maps
To configure Ardoq, you'll need an account with access to the relevant workspaces and reports you want to ingest into ServiceNow. We recommend creating a service account with the proper permissions for this.
Configurations
The basis for the data exported from Ardoq to ServiceNow is a table β either from an existing report or generated from the advanced component search. For each table that you wish to export, you will have to create a specific configuration that maps that Ardoq table to the relevant ServiceNow equivalent.
Deletion Strategy
The ServiceNow export can be configured to preserve data by using soft deletion to mark components deleted in Ardoq as inactive in ServiceNow instead of deleting the table entry outright.
FAQ
Why do we use ServiceNow to import Ardoq data instead of exporting from Ardoq?
Generally, importing data into ServiceNow using Import Sets and Transform Maps provides a built-in staging and testing environment to ensure that the data gets in correctly.
Why don't I see the tables I expect to see during the exporter mapping flow?
This is likely because you are not using the right scopes in ServiceNow. The entire configuration process should happen in the same scope.
