We’re excited to introduce the beta version of the block diagram view in the Viewpoint Builder! This refreshed version brings a modernized look and feel while maintaining the powerful capabilities of the original.

The block diagram view is a versatile way to display various types of graph data. It adapts to your current context and reflects your configurations, including view modifiers, options, and connected components.

This view is ideal for creating process diagrams, deployment diagrams, organizational charts, or any layout where a structured flow is essential. Note that it does not specifically account for sequence details.

Pro Tip:

  • Use groups (group by parent, workspace or reference) to clarify what you are looking at

  • Remember direction matters! (IT often thinks "bottom up" while the business users think "left right" or "top down".)

Try it with Multiple labels to include and communicate multiple layers of complexity

Key Benefits of Multiple Labels:

  • Shows multiple fields on components and references to provide a comprehensive view without tneed for extra visualizations or manual workarounds.

  • Adds more context to your visualizations, helping you and your stakeholders make informed decisions. Clearly presents complex data by displaying multiple labels within a single view, tailored to different audiences.
