Interactive Blocks Beta in Ardoq's Viewpoint Mode offers a flexible and dynamic way to explore and present data. This view style enables intuitive interaction with components and groups, allowing for better visualization and customization of layouts.
This view is a great fit for Application Integration, Business Capability Realization and other Solutions using the Block Diagram if interactivity is a need
Accessing Interactive Blocks View
Interactive Blocks view can be accessed in the Viewpoint Builder through:

Or by selecting Interactive Blocks as a preferred view style.
Editing & Customization Features
Rearrange your data effortlessly to enhance storytelling by dragging and dropping components into meaningful positions. Adjust component sizes to highlight key information, move individual components or groups with ease, and rely on the undo function to revert changes. For better navigation, zoom in or out using buttons or the browser scroll.
Layout Adjustments
The Smart Layout Algorithm automatically arranges your components, while the Grid Layout Algorithm keeps elements structured. You can also rotate layouts in 90-degree increments or flip them horizontally and vertically for greater flexibility.
Label Customization
Using the View Style panel, you can display multiple labels for components but as of now not for references. Formatting rules are saved as part of the viewpoints. You can also reorder or remove labels as needed.
Saving & Exporting Views
Saving to Viewpoints & Presentations
You can save views exactly as they were set up, ensuring that previously saved Viewpoints and Presentations retain their custom layouts.
Export Options
You can download views as PNGs while preserving labels, conditional formatting, and expanded or collapsed group settings.
Expected Behaviour & User Experience
To keep a tidy display, components are aligned relative to each other. Potential alignments are automatically displayed while you are repositioning or moving components and new ones will be automatically created for you as required providing visual feedback when space is unavailable. Your view is retained across sessions, and custom layouts are preserved.
Keyboard shortcuts
Page up = zoom in
Shift+Page up = zoom in a lot
Page down = zoom out
Shift+Page down = zoom out a lot
Arrow keys = pan
Shift+arrow keys = pan a lot
Enter = fit entire layout
Shift+Enter = fit selected nodes or relationships
Space = expand/collapse selected nodes
Ctrl/Cmd + Z = undo edits
Escape = cancel current edit
Presentation Mode
In Presentation Mode, interactive Blocks locks to ensure a consistent display, retaining layout and label settings. This prevents any changes from being made, making sure the view remains intact when sharing it with team members and stakeholders.
