Once you've created a viewpoint, you're ready to visualize your data in a view. To access a view:

  1. Open a viewpoint o create a new one from the Home page or Viewpoint overview page.

  2. Next, select a context component when opening an existing viewpoint or follow the steps in the Viewpoint builder if creating a new one. Learn how to create a viewpoint in this KB article

How to Customize Your View

Click on the “View style, options, and settings” button at the top right corner of the screen to personalize your view.

View style

Choose between Block diagram, Dependency map, Relationships, and Timeline to easily see how your data is structured and connected.

View options

Customize your view by grouping your data, adding conditional formatting, and using label formatting to display the name, type or field values on the components and references.

View settings

You can also further personalize your view by using the specific settings available for that view.

How to Update Your Graph

There are two ways in which you can quickly update your graph:

  1. By jumping right back into the Viewpoint builder. Simply click on “Edit dataset” from the Datasets left-panel and add the additional components and references you’d like to see in your view.

2. Directly from the view, double-click or right-click on a component, select “See component details”, and click the “Open new dataset” tab. Here, you can select new references and see your changes instantly.

How to Save Your View

Once you’re happy with your view, navigate to the "Save as viewpoint" button at the top right corner of your screen and click the arrow to expand the menu. From there, you can save your view as either a viewpoint or a presentation slide. You can also download your view as a .png file.

Save as a viewpoint

Click on the “Save as a viewpoint” button at the top right corner of your screen to save your viewpoint.

👉 Note: The button will be disabled if you have multiple datasets open in your configuration panel. Saving as a viewpoint is possible only when one viewpoint is open at a time.

Give your viewpoint a name, then review all configurations by scrolling to the "Viewpoint setup" section in the "Save as Viewpoint" dropdown menu. All applied configurations will be saved, ensuring everyone sees the information exactly as you intended.

To make your viewpoint accessible to the rest of the organization, please refer to the “How to Share Access to Viewpoint” section below.

Save as a presentation slide

Click on the arrow next to “Save as viewpoint” and select “Presentation slide”. You’ll be prompted to create or select a new presentation where to add the slide to.

Enter a title and a description for your slide and click on the “Save description & title” button.

Save as .PNG file

If you need to export your view as .png file, click on the “Export as PNG” button next to “Save as viewpoint” instead.

How to Share A View

Share your view by saving it as a viewpoint or a presentation slide. Learn how to share presentations with your stakeholders in this KB article.

When sharing your view as a viewpoint, keep in mind that you're sharing both the configured component types, references, and view settings. Each person who uses your viewpoint will be able to explore relevant components based on the settings you've applied. Find out how to share a viewpoint in this KB article.
